Vizantiyskiiy vremennik. Volume 107
ОГЛАВЛЕНИЕ
The next volume of the oldest academic yearbook presents works on various aspects of the history and culture of the Byzantine Empire. The authors focus on the church history of early Byzantium, the history and archeology of medieval Crimea, and the temple architecture of the Balkan Peninsula and Transcaucasia. P. Kuzenkov's article on the appearance of the previously alien concept of "kingdom" in the official lexicon of the empire under Justinian the Great, as well as P. Ermilov's work, which examines the ideological problems faced by the ideologists of the Orthodox East as a result of the fall of Constantinople in 1453, are of a conceptual nature. The source publications section contains a commented translation prepared by A. Shahinyan of excerpts from the work of the Muslim historiographer al-Tabari on the early Abbasid wars with the Romans in the period 750-809.
