Old series

The yearbook began to be published in 1894 in St. Petersburg at the Imperial Academy of Sciences. The yearbook volume consisted of 4 issues. Until 1917, 21 volumes were published.  After the October Revolution, the magazine was published until 1928.

Volumes I — XXV of the journal, published from 1894 to 1928, are commonly referred to as the "old series"
