Vizantiyskiiy vremennik. Volume 102
ОГЛАВЛЕНИЕ
The current volume of the oldest academic yearbook presents works on various issues of the history and culture of Byzantium and neighboring countries. The volume focuses on the problems of military empire building, the ecclesiastical and political organization of Byzantium and its neighbors, and the ideas of Christian authors about biblical history and chronology. The article by R. Shukurov is of a conceptual nature, where for the first time in world science an attempt is made to give a generalized description of the image of Persia and Persians in the cultural memory of the Byzantines and their perception of the modern world. In the traditional art criticism section, the work of A. Zakharova and S. Maltseva draws attention to itself, which introduces archival data into circulation, allowing us to clarify our ideas about the partially lost cultural monuments of the Georgian lands, now part of Turkey.
