Vizantiyskiiy vremennik. Volume 108
ОГЛАВЛЕНИЕ
The currrent volume of the oldest academic yearbook presents works on various aspects of the history and culture of the Byzantine Empire. The authors focus on the early history of the Papacy, medieval hierarchies, the so-called Photiian Schism, and the fate of Roman Taurica at the turn of the Middle and Late Byzantine eras. Art criticism works cover a wide range of issues related to the history of icon painting, architecture, and book decoration. There is an extensive section of publications of sources, in which T. Senina's translation of the correspondence between George Gemistus Plifon and Cardinal Vissarion draws attention.
